Darling Dots Baby Blanket
£5.50

Making a baby blanket is one of the most special gifts you could create for your baby or for a mom to be! Each and every stitch, made with love and care, creates a unique, precious keepsake.

I wanted this design to be soft and nurturing, while still giving you freedom to play with colours and make it your own. You can make it super modern with a neutral palette of dusky colours, or you can use bright and playful primary colours, or you could go for pastel hues like I have done, keeping it fresh and calm. You can truly have fun with any arrangement of colours. Plus, the bonus for this design is that you could absolutely use this as a stash buster, as each dot only uses small quantities of yarn. So why not make a wonderful scrappy lapghan from your stash, and surprise yourself by combining random colours that you wouldn’t have thought of using together from your stash, to create truly unique darling dots.

I really hope you enjoy making your own ‘Darling Dots’ baby blanket. I can’t wait to see your version, so please tag me in on your makes!!

(I have included a blanket sizing chart if you want to make this blanket into a lapghan or a standard throw.)

Difficulty level: Intermediate

You could use a different weight yarn with a suitable hook size to create this blanket. The measurements of your square, however, will be different from what is stated in this pattern. You will also need to take this into consideration when planning out your blanket, and calculating how many squares you will need, and the yarn quantity required.

Pretty Preppy Petals
£5.50

Who doesn’t love a floral crochet blanket?

There are so many absolutely gorgeous floral inspired crochet blankets around. So many in fact that it is often difficult to choose one to make.

So, for this blanket, I really wanted to design something that would stand out, and be rather different… something bold and colourful. While having this in mind and sitting down with my coffee, sketching out some design ideas, I found myself doodling my usual little pen doodle that I scribble while I am thinking… (in fact you will find many of these little doodles all around the edges of my highschool study notes from a kabillion years ago… yup a kabillion years ago ;-)

Then it hit me, perhaps I could somehow incorporate this doodle into my blanket design. While it is not quite exactly the same, I do think you could see where my inspiration came from?

What is up with the tongue twister name: ‘Pretty Preppy Petals’ Blanket?

I do love a catchy name for my designs! I already had ‘Pretty Petals Blanket’ scribbled down in my notes. I asked my teenager to help me think of an extra descriptive word to add to the name that plays on the ‘p’ alliteration… and she said… “Preppy - Mom, it’s so preppy!"

So I looked it up, and ‘Preppy’ is a slang term that can refer to a casual but upscale fashion style. So it can be an old or commonly used casual design style, that has been transformed by injecting in some fun, bright/bold, and hopefully ‘on trend’ colours with playful patterns (i.e. stripes/lightning bolts/zig-zags/smiley faces etc)

I was so thrilled, as I think that totally sums up this blanket design really well! Don't you?

Difficulty level: Intermediate/Advanced (Due to the many colour changes and carrying multiple strands of yarn. This blanket design also consists of 3 different tapestry motifs.)

Yarn: Minimum of 4 different colours per hexagon/half hexagon / Minimum of 3 colours per diamond.

Gauge: The overall size/gauge of each motif doesn't have to exactly match my measurements in the pattern as you will be making as many hexagons/half hexagons/diamonds that you need to reach the required size of blanket you want. However, it is important that each motif you make will be the same size to each other, so they match up when joined. Therefore it's best to use consistent tension, the same weight yarn for all your colours, and use the same hook size throughout.

Included in the pattern:

* Blanket layout chart for 3 size blanket options

* Yarn quantity requirement chart based on suggested blanket layout options

* Clear step by step photos

* Links to videos for support

* Email contact for pattern support

* Special stitches explained

* Colour chart to keep track of your colour choices

* UK crochet terms conversion chart

The Ramble On Beanie
£3.50

It is that time of year again.. those icy cool days are swiftly swooping in and you need to grab those extra layers to brave the cold outside.

This is the perfect ‘grab and go’ beanie. It's super soft, squishy, warm and comfy while still looking modern and trendy.

This pattern works up very nice and quick using a comfortable 4mm hook with a medium tension required so it is easy on the hands. The texture combination looks complicated but it is a clever combination of basic crochet stitches that is easy to master.

The Beanie is worked as a flat rectangular piece that includes the ribbing. There is only one slip stitch seam required to close the beanie. The advantage of this, is that this hat requires NO SEWING (except for weaving in your 2 ends)! The textured head section is an easy to follow 6 row pattern repeat.

There are clear instructions with accompanying photos to help guide you.

This design is versatile so you could have fun with using variegated yarn colours, you could also add a pompom if you would like.

The smallest size requires +/- 30g of DK yarn and the largest size requires +/- 90g DK yarn so this is a great project for busting some yarn bits and bobs.

All sizes of this pattern has been pattern tested by a group of very talented Crochet Designers. The feedback for this design has been super positive, expressing that it is an easy to follow, quick make that is very comfortable to wear.

I hope you love this pattern as much as I do!! ❤️
